We reimagined this warm and inviting townhome for a loving grandmother to enjoy as her second home—a tranquil retreat where earthy tones, lush greens, and layers of comfort create the perfect setting for relaxing and connecting with her children and grandchildren.

Here's the description with biophilic and neuroaesthetic elements woven in:
This project was a heartfelt transformation of a cherished second home for a wonderful grandmother whose greatest joy is the people who fill it — children, grandchildren, and the unhurried rhythm of weekends spent together.
The living room, dining room, and bathroom were completely reimagined with one quiet intention: to design a space that holds people well. That supports connection without demanding attention. That feels, from the moment you step inside, like somewhere you can finally exhale.
Rooted in an earthy, organic palette, the design draws directly from biophilic principles — the understanding that humans are wired to feel calmer, more grounded, and more themselves when surrounded by the colors, textures, and forms of the natural world. Shades of green — her favorite, and not coincidentally one of the most restorative hues in the spectrum — became the soul of the home. Warm woods, natural finishes, and textural fabrics were layered throughout, creating the kind of depth and sensory richness that neuroaesthetics research links to reduced stress and a genuine sense of belonging.
The living room encourages long conversations and cozy movie nights. The dining area was designed to celebrate shared meals and laughter — proportioned and lit in ways that draw people together naturally. In the bathroom, soft neutrals and tactile materials transform daily rituals into quiet moments of restoration.
Every detail was chosen to support a life centered on family, comfort, and ease. The result is a home that feels like an embrace — where every visit becomes a memory in the making.
Testimonial
“This home feels like me—peaceful, grounded, and full of love. Every room has such a calm energy, and the colors make me feel connected to nature. It’s my happy place now, where I can relax, host my family, and just be. The Space Design Collective team truly understood what I wanted, even beyond what I could describe.”
